My Short Visit to the Beautiful El Nido Palawan, Philippines Paradise

Well , hello everyone! Franz here once again. Merry Christmas and advance Happy new year 2020.
My post today is not about the celebration of Christmas but my short vacation in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines . FIY to you guys.. according to my friend google here's a bit of info about El Nido palwan:

El Nido is a Philippine municipality on Palawan island. It’s known for white-sand beaches, coral reefs and as the gateway to the Bacuit archipelago, a group of islands with steep karst cliffs. Miniloc Island is famed for the clear waters of its Small and Big lagoons. Nearby Shimizu Island has fish-filled waters. The area has many dive sites, including Dilumacad Island’s long tunnel leading to an underwater cavern.
Area923.3 km²
Weather27°C, Wind E at 35 km/h, 71% Humidity
ZIP code5313
District1st district
this is my front view from our hotel room , literally you open the glass door, which also serves as the entry way, and there is the beautiful view of the ocean.. unfortunately you cant swim in the beach right there beacuse according to the care taker there's electric current going on there. but there are so many beaches sorrounding this island that you can go and swim and enjoy.

the blue building is where we stayed.. it's called the Aqua lodge.. free breakfast, lots of restaurants and stores surrounding the lodge, very friendly staffs, they also have parking area at the back if you are bringing with you a car.
im gonna share some of the many, actually aeverything is beautiful.. people were very friendly and hospitable. I'll share some of the pictures for you to enjoy, so you'll have an idea what to expect when you visit El Nido.

If you happened to visit El Nido, Palawan, there are  two ways to get there.. direct to El nido via subic international airport.. and you will land at Nacpan airport El Nido or from manila airport get a plain to Puerto Princessa and hire a van which you can get outside the aiport of Puerto princessa for 1500 pesos per person and travel to Elnido for more or 6 hours.. but you have to be ready of the long drive as there will be not much stops for pee or water.. bring water a lot of music in your phone, powerbank for charging and internet is on and off.. but you will have fun along the way.. theres a lot to see.. when you are in El nido you can hire motorcylcles to go around the el nido and the different beaches. there's also tricycale you can hire.. Restaurants are everywhere.. in the vicinity of the lodge we stayed.. But when you go to the Lio beach the restaurant is a bit pricey for us.. Nacpan beach the are reasonable restaurants everywhere...island hopping is a must, its 7th/person , if you wanna try kayaking the lagoon you can hire the kayak for 200 good for 2 and 400 good for 3, there boat vendors selling refreshments in the islands but its expensive, like 1 buko/coconut is 150 a piece. Cr is not available in all islands.. there was 1 but it isnt clean though..you are not allowed to bring blastic bottle with you for water but you can ask water to drink from the boat staff you are in. Theres a lot of souvenir shops all around the lodge we stayed.. just walk around and you can find cheaper ref magnets for as low as 20pesos and and key chains to 10 pesos.. just walk around and dont hesitate to ask for discounts.
That's it people.. I hope this infos help you a bit in deciding to visit El Nido Palawan, Philippines.

Thanksgiving 2019 in Philippines

Good day everyone! How are you people doing?! Its been awhile since my last blog post. Before anything else allow me to greet our brothers and sisters in US as they celebrate Thanksgiving.  Happy Thankgiving to you all!

As for me, since my husband is American, we celebrated thanksgiving as well here in Philippines. How did you celebrate thanksgiving?

I asked my handy dandy friend "Mr. Goggle" about how thanksgiving came about? so here's what i found:

(in North America) an annual national holiday marked by religious observances and a traditional meal including turkey. The holiday commemorates a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621, and is held in the US on the fourth Thursday in November. A similar holiday is held in Canada, usually on the second Monday in October.

As a Filipino, most often than not, every occasion is thanksgiving, we are always thankful for every waking day. Every opportunity that is givin is a blessing and me personally, i'm always grateful.  Now that my husband is American, i always see to it that we celebrate and prepare for Thanksgiving, to bring him back home somehow.

What am I grateful for? A lot.  For the life i am living.  To most people they might think its not real but it is.  I couldn't ask for more.  I live a life that i ever wanted. Loved and appreciated.  It's truly a blessing to have found my home. I am thankful that we're healthy.. I am able to make other people happy, for the gift of understanding and forgiveness.  Finding my peace is something i am grateful for as well, i wish everyone find their peace also.  I am happy just the way i wanted it to be.  I thank the people who are with us along this journey.  May we continue to support and love each other for so many years and plentiful Thanksgiving days to come.

Of Working Out

Of Working Out

Hello guys and friends.  I am so happy to talk you again and somehow make your day inspired.  I am just an ordinary girl, person.  We have the goal: to be happy and be our best.  I just turned 42 YO few days back and i have never felt this good about myself.  Aside from my asawa who always makes me happy and beautiful, and also our furbaby marley, i draw strength and inspiration from working out.  Yes, the never ending working out.  It's cleche but it's really true.  I have been working out siguro mga 27 years old ako.  Back then i was lean coz i dont eat much red meat...very seldom lang.  But right now i am eating meat but in moderation.  Everything is in moderation but i workout every yoga, weights.
So this is me at 49.. i just want to be strong and healthy.  I only workout at home and enjoy each time i do my routine. It's hard but it feels so good after.  what inspire me to keep on working out is subscribe to instagrams of people who loves working out.  So pag nagpost sila ng work out nila naiinspire din ako na gawin.  I dont mind what others would say, what's important is how i fell after.  How i wish they will find the happiness that i am feeling so that magiging positve lahat ng nasa sa isip nila.  Everytime i go to bed nae-excite na ako para sa workout ko the next day.  Kahit 10mins eact day na ibigay nyo sa sarili para mag workout, that will make a difference.  Love yourself first so can give love as well.  Just keep on working sa goal mo sa buhay specially sa health. I am not perfect but i am perfectly imperfect.:)

Hopefully this will inpiren women out there. That's one of my goals.  We have so much to share to one another.  Nobody's the same.  Don't underestimate yourself.  You can leave comments so we can talk and if you question that you want to open, no judgement thrown, i'll be happy to listen. Thank you for taking the time reading my Blog till next time and have lovely day.

Marley Our Gentle Giant

Hey guys. I know it's been awhile, but i am back so i hope.  I have been wanting to write so i can keep with my brain.  You know, when you're getting older and not working your brain is kinda forgetting something.  And i feel writing will help me.  So here i am, this is for myself.

I want to talk about our gentle bear (dog) Marley
Marley (3 yo Lab)

She is our bundle of joy.  I got her when she was still and a puppy.  She was a very sick dog, i had to give up some of my fave stuff to do and buy so i can buy her nutritious food and vet journeys. But she was my joy though i have to clean the house everyday for her accidents.  I invissioned her as my beach and jog buddy.  I have always want to have big dogs like Lab and or golden retriever. I got my wish.  She is very smart, different eye expressions, she understands us, very patient and trained.  She loves to please us and just hang around us.  Shed protect me if she smells danger Lurking around.  She also hates people whom we kinda not fond around.  I guess she can feel how we feel.. She loves her kittens too, her constant companion, her bestfriends:
Anybody who loves pets or has pets would understand how i feel.  They always bring joy.  They help you with your stress and feeling of not being loved.  You will understand what i mean if you get one of these furbabies.  It doenst have to be with breed but all furbabies will give you the same kind of love. they will be loyal to you for the rest of your life.

Pork Nilapad

Pork Nilapad (flat)

I am taking you to my childhood food which my grandmother used to prepare every fiesta.  This pork recipe is a tradition, i have no idea how to translate the recipe's title, but my lola and the elders called it nilapad (bisaya language, one of philippines native dialects). Maybe because the ingredients are supposed to be sliced in thin but flat?.. anyways..for me this has been a comfort food with all the vegies and so easy to prepare..and simple homecooking is the best.  I used to offer myself together with my siblings to help in preparing the ingredients during fiesta every year, with the assistance ofcourse of the adults on how the ingredients supposed to be cut. We would wake up like 1am to prepare all the ingredients. it was fun and educational...So without further adue these are the ingredients:

The pork is sliced thinly and i marinated it in soy sauce, cornstarch, oil, and brown sugar. It adds flavour to the pork, to marinade the pork is optional.

These are all the vegies..

and..this is how i love to serve it, with fried egg and steamed rice. the fried is already my personal additional, cause it tastes even better with it.
Let me give you the full the recipe and how to make it.

PORK NILAPAD.

serves 2

Ings:

  • 1/4 kl pork meat, i prefer without fat, cut into thin slices
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tomato sliced thinly
  • 1 red/green bell pepper
  • 2 medium size potatoes cut into flat and thin (according to your liking)
  • 2 medium carrots cut into same thickness as the potatoes
  • green peas (cooked)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • soy sauce according to taste
  • fish sauce (patis) according to taste
  • brown sugar according to taste (act as flavour balancer)
  • 2 tsp of cornstarch dissolve in water (too thicken the dish)
  • siling haba/labuyo (optional) i want mine a little bit spicy
  • green inion leaves (thinly sliced for garnish)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2c water
Method:

  1. prepare the meat
  2. in a pan heat the olive oil, add the onion, garlic, siling haba, tomato and allow the tomato to cook so the flavour will mix in our dish very well
  3. add the pork, let it simmer for a couple of minutes, then add the soy sauce, simmer for a while and then add the patis or fish sauce, simmer for awhile before adding the water. let it boil before adding the pepper.Simmer for 15 mins, add potatoes, carrots and bell pepper, cook until the vegies are tender checking every now and then so it will not dry and burnt..add water if you need too.
  4. when the vegies and meat is tender add the peas and simmer for while, taste first before adding the salt and sugar to taste and the add the cornstarch dissolved in water and wait for it to thick. once it's thick taste again if the taste is to your liking then it's ready to serve.
I find it best served with steamed rice and fried egg. It is very simple and deliscious.  You can put your own method in seasoning this dish.

Enjoy!
